About the retreat:

Just for fun… let’s start with a platitude…, something you might hear falling from the lips of any random Instagram guru: “Everything is love…” 

For me, when I hear something like that, it’s so sticky sweet it hurts my teeth. But let’s try putting that another way: when we can experience everything, without resistance, without needing this moment to be different in any way, it’s indistinguishable from the deepest love a human can feel. 

As far fetched as that might sound, it’s just true.

That as humans we have the capacity to experience freedom at a level that’s barely imaginable, that we have the potential to use that freedom to reshape our lives and that doing so will bring us closer to our truest self and to those around us we love most…

These are fine ideas to think about… but in this retreat we're going to actually do this. With gentleness and lots of support, we’re actually going to take the actions needed to experience this truth ourselves.

Meditation should be fun and fascinating (and... fun.) With clear guidance, it can be gentle but continuous. It can be a personal exploration that is truly expanded when we practice in community. 

This will be a very small, well supported retreat held on a stunning track of beautiful California earth. We'll explore the fun, psychedelic stuff the mind can do, the deep compassionate potential the human heart has and how we can weave all of this into every action in our lives.

Logistics:

WHEN: The retreat will be from 2pm Saturday, May 7th to 3pm Saturday, May 14th.

WHERE: The location will be in Nevada City, CA 95959. The exact location as well as travel instructions and ride share information will be sent upon registration.

WHAT: This will be an 8 day, silent meditation retreat. You will be provided with detailed instruction and support to help you keep your meditation practice going from the moment you open your eyes in the morning until the moment they close at night. (Note: this can sound daunting if you’ve never done a retreat before, but it is actually quite simple with good instruction and staff and teacher support.)

WHO: One lovely thing about supported meditation retreats is we don’t need to be worried about getting overwhelmed. While this retreat will be quite different from our everyday lives, there is nothing about this retreat that won’t be doable for almost any person. If you want to have a significant experience with meditation and see your true self more clearly, this retreat will work for you.

Janusz began meditating as a teen and became fascinated in how to use the depth of meditation to learn to create a better inner and outer world. Practicing in traditions that emphasized continuous, all day meditation, Janusz developed their practice as a way of weaving mindfulness into every aspect of their life.

After receiving two degrees in fine art, and leveled by personal hardship and the events surrounding 9/11, Janusz rededicated themselves to meditation and teaching. After discovering their teacher Shinzen Young, Janusz began to focus on creating new ways to teach and combine traditional meditation systems.

Janusz has had the honor of studying with numerous living masters in meditation and has been empowered to teach by Spirit Rock meditation center and was personally fully empowered to teach by Shinzen Young in 2013.

Janusz has also trained in Attachment theory as an intervention for trauma, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. They are currently focusing on combining non-dual practices with IFS to create a smooth integrated path between emptiness experiences and deep inner healing work.

Registration is now is now open. However, registering below does not guarantee a spot on the retreat.

Because this is a very small retreat (under 20 people) and space and scholarship are limited, please register below and make a deposit. This will hold your place in line for the retreat. If there is space, you will be informed ASAP.

If there is not space, you will be placed on the waiting list. If we cannot find a spot for you on this retreat, we will refund your deposit.

The below information will be kept private and read only by the teacher and the retreat manager. No information will be shared. All information, aside from your contact info, is deleted after the retreat.

Covid 19 safety: We take your health and the health of fellow retreat attendees seriously. In accordance with CDC guidelines and California law, full vaccination is required for attendance at this retreat. Additionally, we will require all attendees to get a PCR test 4 days prior to the retreat and to be tested twice during the retreat (on site tests will be provided.) This is an evolving situation. Please know that we will keep our Covid safety plan up to date given state and federal guidelines.
